Welcome to the marvelous and mind-boggling world of physics here at Master Coaching Hurstville. Studying physics can change the way you see the world, and the way you live in the world.
Have you ever wondered how you can make your clock tick slower than that of your opponent so that you literally live back in time? How do you control speed and curvature when turning your car on a rainy day to avoid skidding? How is it that if you drop a hammer and a feather from a fixed height, they fall at the same rate yet don’t hit the ground at the same time? How can I step on an egg without crushing it? How high up in the atmosphere would you have to be in order to escape the Earth’s gravity and never fall back down? If I jump out of a spacecraft in outer space would I immediately freeze to death due to the sub-zero temperature or would I maintain my body temperature because of the absence of air molecules in space to conduct heat away from my body?
These questions and more have been tackled by physicists for decades and will be the hot-spot topics at our weekly lessons where we give you a real education, not merely by spitting the syllabus at you (which you get enough of at school anyway), but by lighting the flame of your ability to reason and you formulate the answer for yourself.
The way in which physics is taught to a student can either make them love it or hate it. This is the reason so many capable students come out of school beating the footpaths and knocking on our door when their school teachers simply fail to inspire their understanding and motivation for the subject. Ten out of ten students here at Master Coaching simply love physics and I personally see to it that they do. Our past students have finished year 12 with not only outstanding HSC marks, but also fully equipped to face the challenges of a speeding world living an exponential rise in knowledge. They have reflected that physics is relevant to almost all endeavours and career pursuits, and that an investment to fully understand and appreciate the marvel and importance of physics whilst at school is a worthwhile one. (I personally think you have more chances of becoming a millionaire by learning physics than buying the lottery every week!)
Not every student is Einstein, but given the right opportunity and approach, they can become modern-day Einsteins. (After all, even Einstein failed elementary algebra when forced to learn using the methods of the Olde School.) We would encourage physics students and parents to visit us at our weekly lessons and experience the marvel that comes when you come to understand physics like the back of your hand. |
