These programs may help if the purchaser is a conscientious student who works well without supervision and is already fully self-motivated. |

| Unfortunately, these programs are generally brought by or for students who are struggling and have no belief in their potential. Therefore the programs are greatly under-utilised and doomed to fail. The same applies to phone in or e-mail help. |

| The first step in the mathematics help needed by most students is praise. This is essential. To succeed a student needs praise, encouragement and inspiration, delivered by a coach who has become a guiding mentor. |
